AlbenMed™ is a registered trademark of Right2Try Inc and is defined as Albendazole. It’s investigations into repurposed usage include:
- A substance that is used to treat the peritoneum, lungs, and liver of people with neurocysticercosis and cystic hydatid disease caused by pork tapeworms. It can also be used to treat tapeworm infections in dogs.
- It restricts glucose uptake and disrupts sugar metabolism in cancer cells, leading to apoptosis. It also targets microtubules, causing mitotic arrest in tumors.
- According to studies, it lowers the expression of HIF-1α, which is a key factor in the survival of cancer cells, especially in non-small-cell lung cancer and ovarian cancer.
